Traditional construction risk management—rooted in insurance, safety and incident management—focuses on controlling risk during the construction phase of a project. However, J.R. Roberts/Deacon’s risk management program is aimed at identification, mitigation and control of project risks for all project participants before, during and after construction. We recognize that risks faced by the owner, architects and engineers will impact the project goals of budget, design and schedule. Therefore, we extend our partnership philosophy to the risk management process to ensure that the project is properly funded and risk is allocated to the appropriate party.
